The world’s oldest watch brand BLANCPAIN unveiled their very latest SUPER TROFEO CHRONOGRAPH; a watch dedicated to the world’s fastest and most demanding automobile championship. The Manufacture in Le Brassus presents the Super Trofeo flyback chronograph with the case inspired by the sleek profile of the LAMBORGHINI BLANCPAIN SUPER TROFEO, the exhilarating union racing car of two legendary names.

Powered by Gallardo LP560-4 Speed Machine the alliance racing car will make its debut in Silverstone Circuit UK, 2nd and 3rd of May 2009, followed by the five other race in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Spain and France. On each race, BLANCPAIN will release 50 pieces of SUPER TROFEO CHRONOGRAPH, meaning 300 pieces per year.

Following the earlier ceremony on Hockenheimring Circuit Germany, Marc A. Hayek and Stephan Winkelmann, the respective Presidents and CEOs of BLANCPAIN and LAMBORGHINI, once again set the seal on the union at the 79th International Motor Show in Geneva. It’s the alliance of the technical performances and exclusive aesthetics at the peak of the art combining tradition and innovation.

And when Lamborghini sets out to push the boundaries of speed, it naturally teams up with a watch brand characterised by a time-honoured pioneering spirit and peerless mechanical expertise. An intensely dynamic union that is gearing up to roar out of the starting blocks!

Just ahead of Baselworld 2009, Marc A. Hayek set the sneak preview of the LAMBORGHINI BLANCPAIN SUPER TROFEO CHRONOGRAPH for the press on the Lamborghini booth.

The new Blancpain chronograph presents state-of-the-art design and all the attributes of cutting-edge technology. Crafted in steel coated with a DLC – Diamond Like Carbon treatment (it is said that DLC is the toughest material as only diamond can surpass it in hardness), it features black dial with alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces. The diameter case is 43.5 mm.

The two red and white 9 and 12 o’clock numerals calls to mind the numbers painted on the 30 units of Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo racing cars. Another exclusive feature of this exceptional model is its gold oscillating weight engraved with the inscription “Super Trofeo 2009”.

• Hour, minute, small seconds, date display (at 6 o’clock).
