The Dream Works – Paramount comedy “Tropic Thunder” beat “Dark Knight” Batman movie to be No. 1 on US Box Office this week with $26 million according to studio estimates Sunday. With Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black and Tom Cruise, Tropic Thunder has raised its total S37 millions since opening Monday.
In this movie, Ben Stiller directed, co-wrote and starred as spoiled actors who got involved in the real combat situation with his colleague while shooting a Vietnam War epic in the Asian Jungle. Tom Cruise played as an egomaniac studio boss.
Warner Bros “Dark Knight” itself receives only $16.8 millions after being on top for four weeks and currently on the second place. It has raised its total $471.5 million passed the original Star Wars ($461 million) to stands as number 2 most box office movies of all time behind only “Titanic” ($600.8 million).
