To pay tribute to one of the greatest football managers in the world JOSE MAURINHO, Franck Muller - “Master of Complication” launches its new line of timepieces featuring something special and exclusive: SPECIAL ONE. The watch is available in limited edition of 41 pieces and distributed solely and exclusively by the agents of Franck Muller Portugal at a price of Euro € 34,950.
JOSE MAURINHO (born 26 January 1963) is one of the few football managers who could break Sir Alex Ferguson’s hegemony in English Premier League. On his debut in England, Maurinho successfully brought the league title for Chelsea FC in 2005 and retained the title in the following year. His previous achievements in Porto were much more impressive as he won treble (Portuguese Liga, Cup of Portugal and UEFA Cup) for Porto FC in 2003 and UEFA Championship League Cup in 2004. In mid-2008, he moved to Serie A, signing a three year contract with Inter. Within three months, he had won his first Italian honour, the Italian Supercup, and completed his first season in Italy by winning the national Serie A title.

Jose Maurinho was first dubbed “THE SPECIAL ONE” by media in June 2004 as he said in a press conference upon joining Chelsea to become one of the highest paid managers in football with a salary of £4.2 million a year:
“Please don’t call me arrogant, but I’m European champion and I think I’m a special one.”
However, with such greater success, José Mário dos Santos Félix Mourinho deserved calling himself “The Special One”. He is considered one of the best coaches in Europe, well regarded by both his peers and the press. In addition, he was named the world’s best football manager by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) for both the 2004–05 and 2005–06 seasons.

In line with the case, the black dial with Guilloché soleil decoration is also detailed in pink gold. Both the crown and the chronograph pushers are presented in black and provided by a unique protection, due to which the case is extended.
All numbers but the “Special 1” features luminescent coating. The chronograph minute counter is located at 3 o’clock while the small seconds are at 9 o’clock. The date is revealed through a small window at 6 o’clock.

About Franck Muller
Named after its creator FRANCK MULLER (born July 11th, 1958), the Swiss watchmaker is famous for creating complicated timepieces. Its slogan is “Master of Complications”.
Franck Muller first introduced his first wristwatches in 1983, after months of research and micro-mechanical tests. Since then, the brand continually provide watches that merge modern style (mostly inspired by American watches from the 30’s, like Elgin Tonneau) and traditional Swiss watch manufacturing.
The manufacturer is also known for its “WORLD PREMIERE”. Each year, Franck Muller launches at least one new line of timepieces featuring something special and exclusive that has never seen before in the watchmaking industry. The first such world premiere was launched in 1993 featuring split seconds chronograph minute repeater as well as a perpetual calendar. In addition, it included an indicator showing the internal temperature. Many of the world premieres from Franck Muller are patented.
All Franck Muller watches are mechanical, having either a manual or self-winding movements. Some of their watches use movements based on standard ETA calibers. Many celebrities were seen sporting the Franck Muller watches, such as Demi Moore, Robin Williams, Elton John, 50 Cent and José Mourinho.
