Swiss Watchmaker continues its tradition to commemorate the sensational F1 NIGHT in Singapore by releasing the second edition of TAG HEUER SINGAPORE GP 2009 WATCH: CARRERA CALIBRE 16 DAY DATE CHRONOGRAPH in limited edition of 250 pieces.

In my opinion, this series is much more improved in design than the first edition. And I believed this F1 NIGHT 2009 TIMEPIECE will continue making a huge success.

“The launch of the limited edition TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 8 last year was a roaring success. Not only were the 150 pieces sold out within a mere 9 days, it was also auctioned off at the M.I.L.K. Charity Dinner Auction at a tag of $45,000,” said TAG Heuer’s dynamic President and CEO Jean-Christophe Babin.

To be launched in September 2009, The TAG HEUER CARRERA CALIBRE 16 DAY DATE CHRONOGRAPH SINGAPORE LIMITED EDITION WATCH features green accents applied on the chronograph seconds hand at the center, end of 30-minuted sub-counter’s hand, end of 12-hour sub-counter’s hand, “TACHYMETRE” text at the bezel, the chronograph start/stop button and the stitching of the crocodile leather strap. The color green links to the glowing green borders on Singapore’s Formula One Night track. Likewise, the push-buttons brings to mind the stop-watches of the 1950’s-race-car era. The checkered black dial, with its super luminous hand-applied Arabic numerals and hands, is obviously reminiscent of carbon fiber, material used in formula one racing car – even the steering wheel is constructed from it.

The TAG HEUER CARRERA SINGAPORE GP 2009 WATCH has polished and brushed stainless steel case with 43 mm in diameter. It also includes a fine-brushed steel bezel with tachymeter scale, large crown and pushbutton, the double-antireflective curved dial with sapphire crystal as well as a scratch-resistant sapphire case-back.

The TAG HEUER CARRERA F1 NIGHT 2009 WATCH is animated by TAG Heuer’s self-winding Calibre 16 based on the legendary Valjoux 7750, one of the most robust and accurate chronograph movement ever made. The movement has balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, a rate which allows timing sequences to be performed with 1/8th second precision. A sapphire crystal case-back exhibits a view into this vigorous mechanical movement with a central winding rotor featuring the TAG Heuer brand insignia.

The functions include 30-minute and 12-hour sub counter, running small seconds plus rapidly adjustable indications for the date and day. The tachymeter scale on the black anodized bezel ring allows a wide range of speed and rate calculations, improving the adaptability of the chronograph function. The timepiece has power reserve of approximately 48 hour and 100-meter (10 ATM) water resistant.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Day Date Chronograph Singapore Limited Edition Watch will be available at TAG Heuer retailers and boutiques throughout the world, offered for $6,500.
