Vacheron Constantin, THE OLDEST WATCH MANUFACTURER IN THE WORLD, will present his “Métiers d’Art” Collection with an event featuring guard time of emergency and craftsmen at work, from 11 to 20 September 2009 at Grand Palais, PARIS.

VACHERON CONSTANTIN has 12 MASK WATCHES inspired by the Barbier-Mueller collection in Geneva - the largest private collection of art in the world. The collection “Métiers d’Art masks” pays tribute the occupation of the Master of Enameling. With 25 boxes of 4 watches per year in 3 years, the collection has recently been presented in NEW YORK METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART. The final package of Métiers d’Art Les Masques in 2009 : China Mask Watch, Indonesia Mask Watch, Mexico Mask Watch, and Gabon Mask Watch, feature 18-carat yellow gold case, Vacheron Constantin’s self-winding mechanical calibre, and stamped Hallmark of Geneva.

“Métiers d’Art Tribute to Great Explorers”
After the first two models in the collection dedicated to the Chinese admiral Zheng He and the Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan, Vacheron Constantin pays tribute to two of the most famous travelers, MARCO POLO and CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS. It features mechanical movement with automatic winding mechanism, 18 carat yellow gold case. The case is tested at a pressure of 3 ATM equivalents to 30 meters. The base of the dial, 22-karat gold consists of two parts. It is enameled “Bonfire” entirely by hand using the traditional process.
