The most awaited F1 Night Race is about to come. Four days from now the history will be made: the first ever Formula 1 Race under the moon. Singapore has spent US $100 million dollars for this event. Hotels are already fully booked for September 28th, 2008 even in the vicinity city, Johor Bahru.

F1 star Felipe Massa is among the scuderia who will race on this first Singapore Grand Prix. Continuing its collaboration with Felipe Massa in the creation of specially designed watches, Richard Mille presents its new luxury chronograph which pays tribute to Felipe Massa and his first Formula 1 Night Race. It’s engraved on its titanium case back: “Felipe Massa’s 1st Singapore GP” whiles the details and winding crown decoration bring to mind the color of Singapore’s flag.

Produced in limited numbers, 50 pieces only, Richard Mile RM 011 Felipe Massa Special Edition comes with technical characteristics of the earlier RM 011 watch: flyback chronograph complication, oversized date display, central rotor with adjustable geometry for fine-tuning of the winding mass oscillation.

Regarding the flyback mechanism, Richard Mille’s website explains:

By using the pusher between 4 and 5 o’clock, the running chronograph can be reset without first having to stop the mechanism. This was originally developed for pilots in order to prevent time loss (and therefore accuracy) caused by stopping, resetting and starting the chronograph whilst traversing a navigational point.

Richard Mile F1 Night Watch features rubber strap and titanium case with DLC coated surface. It also includes:
-    Month display with Arabic numerals placed between 4 and 5 o’clock.
-    55 hour power reserve
-    Double barrel system
-    Bottom plate, brides and balance cock made of titanium
-    Spline screws in grade 5 titanium for the bridges and case
-    Grade 5 titanium crown with double seal o ring and collar in Alcryn.

With sapphire crystals on the both sides, this exclusive timepiece is worth around US $87,000.
