Omega Red Gold on Rubber Strap Watch, to celebrate the enthusiasm of 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing

Omega 2008 Beijing Olympic Watch Red Gold on Rubber Strap

Besides Red, Gold or Yellow is also the traditional color of Chinese. Gold epitomizes wealth and prosperity while red symbolizes good luck, joy and happiness. And I think it is then not a coincidence that Omega, the Official Timekeeper in Beijing 2008 Olympic Games releases this Red Gold in Rubber Strap Olympic Watch.

This limited edition Omega Watch features chronograph, chronometer, date and small seconds. As part of the Specialties Olympic Collection Beijing 2008, this watch displays the Olympic logo on the face near the center of the hands.

Its 41 mm case is made of 18 carat red gold. Its crystal is scratch resistant sapphire with domed anti-reflective. The red gold dial is powered for up to 52 hours by the self-winding chronograph movement with column wheel mechanism and Co-Axial Escapement for greater precision stability and durability of the movement. It is also equipped with free sprung balance and water resistance down to 100 meters (330 feet) under the sea.

Co-Axial Escapement was invented by Dr. G. Daniels and commercialized by Omega. It uses a low friction for energy transmission system in order to produce high precision watches.

“Chronometer” means the watch has passed some tests by the official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute: COSC (Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres).
