Obama Watch: Vulcain’s Anniversary Heart in black leather strap
Known for owning Tag Heuer 1500 Professional and Jorg Gray Secret Agent’s Watch, President-elect Barack Obama will soon complement his watch collections. Upon his inauguration in January 20th, 2009 President Obama will receive a new model of Vulcain Watch: the Anniversary Heart. It’s a special edition watch to commemorate the Swiss Manufacture’s 150th Anniversary.
Since 1953, the Swiss Manufacture has presented each new US President with a watch. It’s a long tradition commencing with a Vulcain Cricket Watch for President Harry Truman. Over the last 60 years, many world leaders have been wearing Vulcain Watches.
Obama Watch: Vulcain Anniversary Heart in Gold Rose
In this President Obama watch edition, Vulcain specially designed a presidential caseback in 42 mm wide case available in steel or 18k rose gold. People still have to wait for the day to know which one is for President Obama.
The Anniversary Heart features Vulcain’s renowned mechanical alarm movements: Vulcain Crickets (due to the sound of the alarm), 157 parts V-18 as well as its 15-20 second alarm complexity. The alarm is adjusted using the top crown and the special alarm hand in the center of the dial.
The dial partially reveals parts of the moving gear trains. The beveled raised hour index markers as well as a minute scale on the edge of the dial show the time. The Louisiana crocodile leather completes the elegance of the watch worth of US $6,500 – 23,000.
