I know that Hublot Geneve has been long associated with sports as many football players and even a 100-m-sprinter world champion were seen sporting the Swiss watches. Yet, what I just know is that the Swiss Watchmaker has also a predestined name in the world of yachting; and the brand has always found legitimacy in its relationship with yachts and sea as shown by its partnership with the Monaco Yacht Club and the Real Club Nautico in Palma, and with ALINGHI, Swiss Defender of the 33rd America’s Cup. Hublot is the Official Timekeeper of the Wally Class during their regattas. And recently the watchmaker and the Monaco-based yacht manufacturer have joined forces to present a BIG BANG model with a design and colors reminiscent of WALLY YACHTS.

The launching ceremony will be held during the last regattas of the season 2009 which are taking place in the Golfe de Saint-Tropez. Along with great numbers of Wally yachts there, heads of the two companies, Jean-Claude Biver – CEO of HUBLOT and Luca Bassani – the Italian founder of WALY YACHTS, will introduce The HUBLOT BIG BANG WALLY in a certainly excellent and exclusive event.

WALLY YACHTS are the choice of racing yacht for those who plan to campaign one in Wally Class regattas throughout the MedCup. The Watch is constructed of ultra-light alloy compounding aluminum and magnesium, with a titanium movement and a rubber strap. The case, bezel and dial are in the same color while WALLY logo emerges at 9 o’clock, in black for continuity with the side inserts, the indices and the strap. This chronograph is produced in limited edition of 500 pieces and was selected in the “Sports watch” category of the prestigious Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève awards 2009.
