For some reason, you might need to iron your tie; perhaps there are wrinkles you want to remove. To do so, here are some tips for you:
- Before ironing, you need to put a clean cotton cloth on the tie to cover it from the excessive heat.
- Always keep the iron at a lower temperature.
- The rule of thumb, if the tie is made of silk or polyester then the temperature of the iron should be lower than 284°F (140°C). If the tie is made of wool, keep the iron at the temperature lower than 338°F (170°C).
- Avoid ironing the tie if possible since it may damage the tie’s fabric and may cause the tie look too flat.
