Spanish striker who scored the winning goal in Euro 2008 is wearing the new model of Piaget Polo: FortyFive Watch
Spain National Football Team has the Hublot Limited Edition Spain Euro Big Bang Watch as the acknowledgement on their success of winning the UEFA European Championship 2008; but the Spanish striker FERNANDO TORRES has just specially received the first PIAGET POLO FORTYFIVE WATCH available in Spain (the next piece goes to Prince Harry’s team Sentebale).

Philippe Léopold Metzger, Fernando Torres, and Moisés Chocrón
The presentation took place on Friday, 29th May at the Chocrón boutique in Madrid. Philippe Léopold Metzger, the CEO of Piaget, and Moisés Chocrón, the Director General of Chocrón Joyeros, which distributes the Piaget brand in Madrid and Ceuta handed over the new model that marks the 30th Anniversary of the legendary PIAGET POLO.

new model of PIAGET POLO in 2009: FortyFive Watch
The original sport-chic watch PIAGET POLO was the brand’s breakthrough released in 1979. Ever since the day, the brand has become strong associated with Polo. The strength of Piaget Polo lies in the perfect integration of its case, bezel and strap or bracelet. This is what makes the watch easy to wear and suitable in any circumstances for both Him and Her. Sculpted from gold and titanium, it is nonetheless supple enough to fit snugly around any masculine or feminine wrist – a characteristic that does much to explain the enduring success of this model over the past 30 years.
And now, for the new model, the brand has chosen the LIVERPOOL FC soccer player FERNANDO TORRES to be the endorser. They think the striker, who has scored some fifty goals for his club in only just two years, shares several common values with PIAGET. The founder’s motto “Always do better than necessary” celebrates the watchmaking brand. Fernando Torres’ stunning career is characterized by this desire to excel and go beyond personal limits, which are equally dear to Piaget.
Featuring a fashionable 45-mm diameter case reminiscent of the 45 minutes of a polo match, the new model implements a resolutely sporty attitude with an exterior that is a first for PIAGET: combining titanium, injected rubber and steel. It accommodates a Manufacture Piaget self-winding movement and is available in either a self-winding version with hours, minutes, seconds and a large date window, or a chronograph flyback version.

Fernando Torres Watch by Piaget: POLO FORTY-FIVE
PIAGET POLO FORTYFIVE is certainly a vivid illustration for the maxim: “The memory serves the write of the future”.
For its Sporty FortyFive model, PIAGET has deliberately refurbished the design of the Polo: new proportions, new curves, gadrooned screw-lock crown, rubber-capped push-pieces and crown, black PVD-treated oscillating weight, triple-folding clasp with safety mechanism and summer/winter position. The grade 5 titanium chosen for the case is of the only type that can be polished, and indeed all the materials composing this model have been chosen with the greatest care and adorned with brand’s signature finishing features. Piaget quality exists in each and every detail.
