Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said,

“We are really happy about this partnership and to be able to link our name to such a prestigious club like Chelsea. We are big football fans: for us it means healthy competition, intense passion and great discipline. Football players are style icons both on and off the pitch and, on top of this, there is our love of England and of London, which have always been a source of inspiration for our work.”

The Chelsea formal outfits incorporate club’s signature color: BLUE. The players will have two outfits; first set consists of three piece suit (a blue silk shirt, a two-button Prussian blue coat and a blue jacquard woven tie) with an embroidered logo crest while the second includes a pair of jeans worn with a shirt and black trainers. Both looks will be finished off with a black wool fitted coat. As for Coach CARLO ANCELOTTI and his officials, the designer duo will provide two-button jackets, blue shirts, wool jumpers and high-heeled shoes for the women.

However, the first appearance on public will be next week in Germany when Chelsea plays the friendly match against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Ron Gourlay, CEO of Chelsea Football Club said,

“We are delighted that Dolce & Gabbana will be our official supplier of formal wear for the next three years. Their designs for this season’s team wear are exceptional, and we’re excited to be partnering with such a world renowned and innovative design house. In addition to dressing the team, Dolce & Gabbana’s comprehensive redesign of the club’s directors’ lounge and other key areas of the stadium will also serve to showcase our relationship over the next few seasons.”

Such partnership with Dolce & Gabbana is not the first one for the Premier League Champion as well as the D&G collections. Back in 2007 to 2009, GIORGIO ARMANI had also designed the Chelsea’s formal costumes as well as director’s living room; while Dolce & Gabbana previously designed the uniforms for A.C. Milan Football Club and for the 2006 World Cup Italian National Football Team. As for midfielder FRANK LAMPARD, D&G costume will complement his fashionable collections as he is also the brand ambassador of LEO MESSI clothing line.
