SIPAR organization promote children’s education in Cambodia
“The non-governmental organisation “SIPAR”, established in Versailles in 1982, is attempting to raise a new generation of authors and graphic artists in Cambodia. Furthermore, it is publishing various series of books in the local language, Khmer, including classics of world literature such as “Le Petit Prince” (”The Little Prince”) by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. In addition to the erection of school libraries, the education of librarians, setting up educational centres and mobile book buses which serve outlying regions with reading matter, “SIPAR” has ambitious goals: by 2009, the organisation hopes to increase the number of school libraries to 200.”
