I am the ‘product’ of the 80’s. And pixelated games such as Tetris, Pong, Asteroid and Space Invaders has nurtured me. I still can reminisce the days of skipping school to play the video game. It was a happy fun days.

The puzzle video game TETRIS was found by Alexey Pajitnov in June 1985. Nintendo labeled it “From Russia with Fun!”. It was then sold for a range of 1980’s home computer , followed by its huge success for the Game Boy launched in 1989. Nintendo Wii lead the market in Christmas 2007 and 2008 (sold 1.3 million units). But, back in Christmas 1975, Atari was the commercial success; releasing a home version of PONG through Sears retail stores. It was sold numerous copies. Pong, one of the earliest arcade video games quickly became the first commercially successful video game and ignited the start of the video game industry. Several companies began producing more innovative and new types of game. And the rest is history…
Released in 1979 by Atari Inc., ASTEROIDS is one of the most popular arcade video game. Created by Lyle Rains and Ed Logg, Asteroids uses vector graphics and a two-dimensional view. It is Atari’s best selling game of all time that in the Golden Age of Arcade Games, the video owners sometimes had to install larger boxes to hold the amount of quarters that were spent by players.

SPACE INVADERS is one of the earliest shooting games came in two dimensional graphics. It was very popular that it then helped the rise of the video game industry, brought it to the next level of a global industry. Created by Tomohiro Nishikado and released in 1978, Space Invaders was one of the forerunners of modern video gaming. Originally manufactured by Taito in Japan, US gamers knew it by the Midway division of Bally. In 1980s Atari 2600 version Space Invaders gained very successful sales and became the first “killer” app for video game consoles.
