Better late than never! I think that’s what Tiffany & Co believes when they launched the MLB Champion’s Ring although the new season has just started. When SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS won the MLB 2010 World Series, the players and coaches only received token rings; but on April 9th 2011, at a crowded AT&T Park ceremony, they were presented the ‘real’ Championship Rings designed by that American jewelry company based in New York City with experience more than 170 years. And good news is…you can also have the identical official rings as one extra piece is put on auctioned at the Giant’s World Series Ring Raffle until July 26, 2011 with the proceeds will benefit the Giants Community Fund and the Celebrities for Charity Foundation.

The players, coaches, manager, general manager and trainers received their rings on the field from Giants Managing General Partner & CEO Bill Neukom and President and COO Larry Baer. Before the baseball game against the St. Louis Cardinals in San Francisco, Saturday, April 9, 2011, the first ring was presented to Mike Murphy, Giants clubhouse manager who has been with the team since starting as a bat boy in 1958; next was Senior Vice President and General Manager Brian Sabean, followed by Field Manager Bruce Bochy.

It also bears the club’s “SF” logo encrusted with round diamonds and surrounded by a bezel of yellow gold set with two diamonds and the text “World Champions”. One shank features the year “2010” flanking a yellow gold image of the Golden Gate Bridge – the iconic symbol of San Francisco; while on the other shank, the name of each individual recipient (not only the members of the winning team 2010, but also the highest bidder of the ring raffle) is engraved on a ribbon over an image of World Series trophy. Within the top of the trophy is one mandarin orange spessartite representing the San Francisco championship and at the base of the trophy are five diamonds representing the five New York championships.

Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is on the run these days for the World Cup Twenty Ten in South Africa. He tripped many times to FIFA headquarters in Switzerland and revealed (as told to Reuters), “I wanted to make a special ring, a super ring, for FIFA.” He argued that Colombia, rich in gold and emerald, has a strong tradition of jewelry-making. In fact, Colombia, despite their absence in the tournament, has contributed pop star SHAKIRA to sing the Official World Cup 2010 Official song and Juanes, another Colombian crooner, to be on staged at the opening concert in Johannesburg, June 11th.

Vasques added, “Our experience in jewelry-making over the years makes for a world-class product. But there are a lot of parameters to meet.”

• 7 platinum rings; each encrusted with 220 emeralds, to be sold for US $250,000 a piece.
  1 (one) platinum ring will be donated to FIFA.
• 33 white gold rings; each encrusted with 36 emeralds and an array of South African diamonds; the price will be US $70,000 per piece.
  1 (one) gold ring will be given to UNICEF, in recognition of the U.N. agency’s work on behalf of disadvantaged children; and another gold ring will be presented to the Best Player of the World Cup T20 South Africa. 
• 1,970 rings made of gold and silver; each will feature 4 emeralds, to be sold for US $2,500 each.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place between 11 June and 11 July 2010, will be the 19th FIFA World Cup, the premiere international football tournament. It will be the culmination of a qualification process which involved 201 of the 208 FIFA national teams. As such, it matches the 2008 Summer Olympics as the sports event with the most competing nations. Likewise, this will be the first time that the tournament has been hosted by an African nation, after South Africa beat Morocco and Egypt in an all-African bidding process.

• Valeria Golino,
  an Italian-Greek film and television actress. US audiences may best recall her as the love interest of Tom Cruise on the Academy Award-winning film Rain Man (I love this movie; one of my favorite!). The awards she has won includes David di Donatello, Silver Ribbon, and Coppa Volpi.

• Terrence Howard,
  a Chicago born actor, singer and rapper. He was an Academy Award-nominator (upon “Hustle and Flow”) and the winner of NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture (The Best Man, 2000 and Crash, 2006) as well as Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Cast - Motion Picture (Crash, 2005).
  Howard has released his debut pop album, “Shine Through It,” in September 2008.

• Vittoria Puccini,
  an Italian actress. Despite her debut was on movie Gaia, Vittoria Puccini is renowned for her role in Television series such as Elisa di Rivombrosa (2003) and Imperium: Nerone (2004) on which she has received Diamond Award for Best Film Actress at Venice Film Festival.

• Willem Dafoe,
  an Appleton-Wisconsin-born actor. The two-time Academy Award-nominated American film and stage actor is best known for his roles in Platoon, The Last Temptation of Christ, Shadow of The Vampire, Mississippi Burning, and Spider-Man, Clear and Present Danger and Finding Nemo. But, Shadow of the Vampire must be his memorable film as he received many awards upon his roles.

• Ben Stiller,
  an Emmy Award-winning American comedian, actor, film producer and director. He won Funniest Actor in a Motion Picture (Leading Role) in 2000 upon his role on “Meet The Parents” (Oh,..I love this movie too…it’s so funny, Guys! If you haven’t seen it, then watch it immediately; laughter is guaranteed).
  Ben Stiller is also best known for his roles in Zoolander, There’s Something About Mary, Meet the Parents, and Night at the Museum.
  In 2008, Stiller starred, co-wrote, co-produced and directed the movie Tropic Thunder, which raised its total more than US $37 millions.

• Cristiana Capotondi,
  a Rome-born Italian actress. She first gained her popularity upon Maxibon Motta ice cream’s commercial. She is best known for her roled on Rai Uno’s television series Orgoglio (2004-2006).

• Giuseppe Fiorello,
  a.k.a Bepper Fiorello a.k.a Fiorellino is an Italian actor. He is the brother of Rosario Fiorello (who is also endorsing the Bulgari Save The Children Ring). He made his debut as an actor on the film L’ultimo capodanno. He Subsequently worked in various television drama broadcast by RAI, including the TV miniseries L’uomo sbagliato, Salvo D’Acquisto, Il grande Torino, La vita rubata (2007) and Baaria - La porta del vento (2008).

• Jennifer Esposito,
  an Italian American who is an actress and dancer. Her first appearance on television was in Law & Order (1996) but she is best known as Stacey in the hit Spin City. She roled on I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. She won Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Cast - Motion Picture
  2005 upon the Academy Award-winning film Crash.

• Lena Headey,
  an English actress known for playing Sarah Connor on television series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. He also roled in such films: The Remains of the Day, Possession, The Brothers Grimm and 300.

• Rosario Fiorello,
  a.k.a Fiorello is an Italian singer as well as a radio and television presenter. Like his brother Giuseppe Fiorello (who is also endorsing this Bulgari Save The Children Ring), Rosario started his career working in tourist villages before a talent-scout found him. He gained his first popularity through the TV show “Karaoke” and become more famous as he made imitation of many celebrities such as Berlusconi, Antonio Cassano, Vittorio Cecchi Gori, the prince of Albert of Monaco and Monica Belluci.

• Alessandra Ferri,
  an Italian ballerina who is widely considered one of the most famous ballerinas of the late twentieth century. Along her 22 year career, Alessandra Ferri has danced as Principal Dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, as étoile (rank equivalent to prima ballerina) with the la Scala ballet company in Milan, and as an international guest artist.
