The 2008 Olympics Opening Ceremony at the Beijing National Stadium was defined as “the most spectacular Olympics Opening ceremony ever produced”. It began at 8:00 pm China Standard Time on 08-08-2008 featuring 15,000 performers in rich fusion choreography of ancient and contemporary Chinese art and technology. Zhang Yimou and Zhang Jigang were collaborated to produce the stunning ceremony. Former Chinese gymnast Li Ning ignited the cauldron; the athlete did the parade in order of the number of strokes in their Simplified Chinese character transcriptions. The night then was very bright as the fantastic fireworks of pyrotechnic adorned the Beijing’s sky.
In August 24th, 2008 the Beijing Games will get concluded. Again, the Beijing National Stadium, “Bird Nest” will be the witness of a most spectacular 2008 Summer Olympic Closing Ceremony. Guo Jinlong, the Mayor of Beijing will hand over the Olympic flag to Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London as the next host of Summer Olympic Games 2012. Some sources said that the L.A. Galaxy star, David Beckham probably the honored man of marking the transition.
“He was very involved in the London bid to get it, and as a Londoner he is incredibly proud that the Olympics will be in London,” the source added. “He is passionate about it and looking forward to the games in 2012.”
